An Update on the Life of Jennifer Jacobson

The past week and a half has been really busy, and feels like we've already been at school for a month. It's been hard once again settling back into the routine of things, but it's had its good times as well.

The unusual BC weather we've been getting has been quite fun, and we've made use of the snow as much as we can. Hannah and I have often come back to our room feeling like frozen ice cubes after playing in it for so long.

Sadly, one of our lovely dorm gals decided to leave for second semester and go travelling in Thailand with a buddy of hers. We had a little goodbye party for her before Christmas, and a second little gathering as she left last week. We'll definitely miss having Cheryl around, one of those girls who brightens up any event.

Last weekend, I had a blast hanging out with the Macaulay clan for a bit, swimming, eating, and a movie and dessert date with Tracy. It was nice getting off campus for a while with them.

Also, since it's had been below zero for so many days, our school pond froze over. My parents probably wouldn't be too thrilled knowing we went on it and 'skated' around (I didn't have skates unlike a few others), but man - it was awesome! Just playing tag and sliding around underneath the stars with some friends was such a blast!

Last night we also had a swell dorm meeting. We tag-teamed with the dorm next to us and had a cookie baking extravaganza. We got into teams and played an intense baking game. With teams of 6, each person had a different job. One person sees the recipe and draws out the measurements and ingredients without using words, another interprets the picture and tells an actor who then acts out the amount of ingredients. Another person interprets the acting and tells someone else who grabs the ingredients, and gives it to the baker. But the baker has a blindfold on and can't see what their doing, what they're using, how to measure. So they have to ask the ingredient go-getter, who can only answer with 'uh huh' (yes) and 'na uh' (no). Needless to say, our team was amazing and our cookies turned out super tastey, so we took the championship.

Now for the schoolwork aspect of things, life looks like it might be a bit busy for a while. I'm considering dropping a course, which might ease of the stress a bit. I'm not overly excited about any of my classes, but I think (I hope) once we get into them a bit more, I'll get some interest.

Exciting News!!
Cassie and Terri are coming out in less than a month for a visit, I'm so stoked to see those girls! The countdown to our gongshow visit has begun!
