Trinity in the Fall...Just a few shots from around campus with all the the trees and their colorful leaves. Most of the pictures only give a glimpse of the beautiful colors...
"And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground...."
Genesis 2:9a

"You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word."
Psalm 119:114

"No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit."
Luke 6:43

"It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect."
Psalm 18:22

"May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it."
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

" I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete."
John 15:11

"And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God."
Colossians 3:14-16

Good 'Ol Weekend
Basically to sum up the weekend, it was fun, full of spontaneous randomness, and left me with a smile but feeling very tired.

Friday night, Candace, Cheryl K, Hannah, Cheryl T and I headed to White Rock for the evening to walk along the beach and eat gelato. It was crazy foggy, but it cleared up for a bit, but later returned as we were leaving. It was nice to escape the campus for a while and get into the fresh beach air. We got a little lost on the way back to school, but eventually made it back.

I had rowing practice Saturday morning, and then we had a choir performance for Trinity's new President inauguration. It was actually really neat to hear all the different speeches, and as Hannah would say, "to be part of history".

Saturday night, Hannah and I dressed up for the Bomber's hockey game. We thought we would try being super school spirited and made some signs and went hardcore on team colors. It definitely was an interesting game. The ref-ing wasn't all that amazing, and there were some cheap shots taken by the other team. Sadly we lost, but there's always next time.

Needless to say, I think it was the first time I've seen 5 guys in the penalty box.

Afterwards, we went to Timmy's for a snack- so good. Billy, Bryan and Kris dressed up all fancy for the game in their suits so that they could look like coaches. So it felt strange walking with the boys while Hannah and I looked like we were dressed up for Halloween.

Sunday brought lots of rain, as well as our first Rowing Regatta. It was a cold day, but a good experience hanging out with the team and rowing against other teams. It made me appreciate warm clothes after getting back.

Anyways, that's the most of the weekend. There were a few other late night excursions visiting horses and playing outside, lots of laughs.

Hannah and I had a nice walk yesterday around the pond, just reading some scripture and chatting, and this was one of the verses that I found encouraging. God bless :)

"Teach me Your way O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. I will give thanks to You O Lord my God, with all my heart, and will glorify Your name forever. For Your lovingkindess toward me is great, and You have delivered my soul from th depths of Sheol."

THANKSGIVING WEEKEND!!!
(warning: this post is a little long)

I made it home for the Thanksgiving weekend, and it was so good. Bryan, Kari and Candace were heading home with Hannah, so the 5 of us had a sweet time travelling, and it went by pretty quickly. It was a fun adventure of buses, sky train, ferry and cars, and playing Dutch Blitz on the ferry - always a hoot.

I was so pumped to see Candice, Arron, Jeff and Stu when I got off the ferry, but found no one waiting for me. But fortunatly, with a second glance behind me, I saw three mysterious men sitting holding newspapers infront of their faces, and low and behold it was the sly boys. Sadly, mom was away this weekend, but it was good that she got to see Grampa and see some of her family. We missed her tons and it was strange not having her around. I was so happy to see Dad and Scott though, and to get in some good hugs.

So we played a lot of X-box and N64 while we were home. Jeff is another hardcore fan of Mario Kart Racing, so we had some good races and battles, along with some flying fighting games.

So Saturday morning, we cooked the tasty breakfast of bacon, waffles, berries, and ooh so much whip cream! Candice brought her waffle maker and their yummy family waffle recipe and we had a nice brunch. After, we headed to the beach, and it was great to be back there and smell the good ocean scent.

So since Dad had to work, Candice and I decided to try our hand at cooking Turkey dinner. Dad had already prepped alot of stuff for us, and we had mom and the Hundeby's on the phone line for extra help when we needed them. But we recruited the guys to help out too, so overall it was a success. Dad finished work in time to carve the turkey, and it was awesome:)

Random story: we decided to celebrate Jeff's birthday a little early and got him his favorite pie. We warmed it up, and silly me, I stuck in 20 candles and walked away for a moment. When I returned, I noticed the candles weren't sticking straight up anymore, but were at weird angels. As I investigated and pulled out a candle, I gasped as I realized the bottom of the candle had melted in the hot pie. So, Jeff was given his favorite pie, Strawberry Rhubarb, with 20 bits of half melted candles in them, it was definitely a good laugh.

Dinner was wonderful and tastey. Jade-o came over for dinner as well, which was good to see him, a mini Capernwray reunion, and Scotty was out hunting but made it home for dinner. Then Han, Candace, Bryan and Kari and our friend Matt came over afterwards just to bum around. So that was sweet too.

So overall, the weekend was great, and it was refreshing to be home and have the chance to catch up with good friends and family while eating lots of food. It's great to be reminded of the many amazing blessings the Lord has given.

Psalm 100
A Psalm for Thanksgiving

Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth.
Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.
Know that the LORD Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
For the LORD is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.

Heading Home!!!

We are finally heading home for thanksgiving! I am so pumped to be home again on the island, I can't wait to the family - and I'm really looking forward to seeing the ocean...how I miss it. The ferry ride will be great. I have some good friends coming for the feast, so that's exciting, plus - I can't wait for turkey turkey turkey:)
Blessings on each of your holidays, and hopefully the things we are thankful for are on our minds all year long, rather than just this weekend. Keep your focus on Him, the one who we owe all the thanks to. God bless!

"I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving." Psalm 69:30

A Few Pictures From The Weekend....

Rachel's favorite tree is behind us on the left - she thinks the leaves are amazing!

The Dessert Table!!
We hung out with a guys' dorm Saturday night and ate some food.

The Couch Fort the boys built...

Um...after we found the clay bar at a River.
Hannah (in the middle with blue shorts) and Bryan (bottom right) looked the most intense.

So this is cool Janelle, and it was her 18th birthday on Sunday:) I have more fun birthday pictures that I'll perhaps post later. Can ya tell that she's from Africa since she can walk and balance a huge bag of flour on her head? (She's a missionary kid, and Hannah is her cousin too)Now that's talent...

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; all the more as you see the day drawing near."
Hebrews 10:23-25
